Somerville man arrested on drug charges following traffic stop

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A Somerville man was charged with drug charges after a minor traffic stop early Tuesday morning, according to the Priceville Police Department.

The department said an officer was conducting routine patrol in a neighborhood around 4:30 a.m. when he stopped a vehicle near East Upper River Road and Olde Dogwood Trail.

Police said the driver was stopped for a minor traffic violation. After the stop, PPD said a narcotics investigation led to the driver’s arrest.

Antwuan Devonta Alexander, 28, was charged with trafficking fentanyl, first-degree possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Alexander is currently being held in the Morgan County Jail on $700,300 bond.
