Police recover drugs, gun during Marion traffic stop

MARION, SC (WMBF) – A Marion man is facing charges after being accused of several drug-related crimes.

Marion police said they have been investigating 47-year-old Daryl Lamont Jones for several months.

Then, on May 1, authorities said they arrested Jones and recovered 159 grams of cocaine base, 26 grams of cocaine, 20 doses of methamphetamine, 9 grams of marijuana, a 9mm handgun and $747.

Charges against Jones include trafficking in cocaine base 100 grams or more, trafficking in cocaine 10 grams or more but less than 28 grams, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamines, third offense and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

His bond was set at $90,000.
