MCLEAN, Va., May 7, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — NextNav (Nasdaq: NN) (“NextNav” or the “Company”), a leader in next-generation positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) and geolocation 3D, announced the appointment of Dr. Sanyogita Shamsunder as the new Chief Operating Officer of NextNav, effective May 9, 2024. In this newly created role, Sanyogita will oversee business development, strategy, product and software, programs and operations, as well as IT.

Dr. Shamsunder joins NextNav with over 20 years of experience leveraging technology and innovation to increase the growth of large companies and technology start-ups. Most recently, she served as Head of Edge Network Infrastructure at Google, where she led the team that developed and maintained Google’s global, multi-vendor Edge network. Prior to that, Sanyogita led various network and product teams at Verizon, including as vice president of product strategy and operations, where she led early development and testing of 5G network technology. Earlier in her career, she launched the first 4G devices and led various spectrum initiatives in collaboration with government and industry groups. Sanyogita holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a PhD in electrical engineering and mathematics from the University of Virginia.
