Melissa Gorga 'couldn't stop crying' as Antonia heads to college

With all the drama between the Gorga siblings, Real Housewives of New Jersey fans might lose track of their kids and how much they’ve all grown up on camera. The eldest of cousins Gorga and Giudice attends college.

And in the season premiere of RHONJ, Joe Gorga and Melissa Gorga started feeling all the feels about their daughter going off to college. Envy shop owner caught on camera trying to help Antonia Gorga sort your clothes for the move.

The scenario “will resonate with many mothers”

Melissa gave an exclusive interview to People about her 18-year-old daughter’s new chapter.

“And to see her leave, I was so moved. I know this will resonate with a lot of moms who are about to send their kids away or who have just left,” the On Display singer revealed.

“It’s hard. It’s so bittersweet because you’re so excited for them. And then you’re also just… you can’t stop crying,” Melissa added.

A parent knows the mix of emotions between pride at seeing their child succeed and sadness at letting them go.

“She didn’t think she was going to like her living space, the showers and the whole roommate situation, all that,” Melissa explained. “She looked so doubtful and I was like, ‘Oh my God, she’s going to come back. She will return in a month. I know that.”

In the first episode of season 14, Melissa notably bought Antonia a pair of “shower shoes” to help her daughter get used to sharing a bathroom. However, the eldest child Gorga has adapted well to her new, but reduced, living space.

“She’s living her dream in Delaware,” the mother of three exclaimed. “She loves it. She loves it. She just got into the sorority she wanted to get into, so she’s happy.
