Vegas stars react to cancellation

The cast of CSI: Vegas has responded to the news that their show is canceling after three seasons.

Earlier this week, it was confirmed that the Las Vegas spinoff of the crime drama series had been axed by CBS as part of a broader schedule shakeup.

Leading the tributes is Marg Helgenberger – who played Catherine Willows in the original series and spin-off – who shared her thoughts on the cancellation via an Instagram post.

“I’m going to miss my crime-solving partners. Unfortunately, CSI:VEGAS has been canceled,” she began, adding that “every single person” pulled out all the stops to create the series.

She continued, “It was truly a pleasure and honor to work/perform alongside such a fun and talented company of storytellers. Immeasurable thanks and gratitude to everyone for making this experience so memorable.

“And to all the fans, we did everything for you.”

In a separate post, the actor added that there are still several episodes left before the season finale on May 19, 2024.

Likewise, Lex Medlin (who has played Beau Finado since season two) also shared his thoughts on Instagram, writing that he would miss the cast and crew of CSI: Vegas “so much.”

“CSI Vegas was not picked up for Season 4 by CBS. I will miss this cast and crew so much. I will especially miss Beau. He was so much fun to play. Thank you all for your support. Let’s move on to the next adventure” , he wrote.

Premiering in 2021, CSI: Vegas saw original series stars William Petersen and Jorja Fox reprise their roles as Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle alongside a host of new characters.

However, both men were later written out of the series, with their characters Gil and Sara choosing to spend their retirement traveling across the Arctic.

CSI: Vegas wasn’t the only show axed by CBS, with Marcia Gay Harden’s comedy show So Help Me Todd lost in the upheaval.

CSI: Vegas is broadcast on CBS in the United States. In the UK, the show is broadcast on Alibi and can be streamed on NOW or UKTV Play.
