General medicine students go to state university meeting | San Patricio County

Four Gregory-Portland High School students will travel to the state academic and speech meet in Austin in mid-May following their performance at the San Antonio regional competition.

At the regional competition held at the University of Texas-San Antonio on April 26-27, four different students placed in the top three in their respective events to advance to the state competition. It will take place May 13-15 on the University of Texas campus.

Lily Stuart was the regional champion in the poetry competition to advance to state, while Samantha Gregory finished third in prose. The Wildcats had two state qualifiers in editorial writing, with Mark Trevino finishing in second place and Savannah Aguilar in third place.
