Kurupt Warns Drake & Kendrick Lamar Over Ongoing Beef Rap: “Stop It”

Kurupt Warns Drake & Kendrick Lamar Over Ongoing Beef Rap: “Stop It”

Kurupt was in the trenches. He was part of the Death Row Records label when East and West Coasts were getting into it in the 1990s. He knows what real animosity looks like, so his take on the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle is welcome. After all, this is the biggest fight since Biggie and ‘Pac traded blows. Kurupt kept the West Coast with which rapper he prefers, but he also issued a warning to both parties, assuming they plan to continue.

Kurupt went on the Bootleg Kev Show on May 7 to discuss the battle. Fans got to see rapper Tha Dogg Pound hear Lamar’s “Not Like Us” for the first time, and he was a fan. “But it was really great,” he said. He also cited Dot’s bar about Drake hitting an “A minor” string. However, the rapper quickly changed the subject and talked about the downsides of having two major rap artists taking shots at each other. “That’s why it’s not healthy, my nigga,” he told the podcast host. “Anything could happen. Drake could fall and break a toe and ‘Oh, that’s what you get for fucking Kendrick.’ Do not do that.”

Kurupt tells Drake and K. Dot to “fight” or end it

Kurupt was later informed of the shooting which took place outside Drake’s Toronto mansion. This led him to double down on his previous statement. As far as he’s concerned, a rap battle isn’t worth the danger Drake and Lamar might put themselves in. “This shit is real, because,” he noted. “Life is precious, my nigga. So if you don’t want to fight, stop it…”

Kurupt advised Drake and Lamar to keep this on file and cited Murda Mook and himself as prime examples. “It’s not funny,” he added. “When I went to war, I wanted to fight. It was real! When Pac and Biggie were in it, it was real. That shit ain’t real.” It’s not possible to connect the shooting at Drake’s mansion with the rapper’s current battle, but the timing has fans wary. The shooting, however, hindered another dissident outing, according to DJ Akademiks.
