Olivia Rodrigo’s Co-op Live concerts canceled as arena chaos continues

Fans of Olivia Rodrigo will be disappointed to learn that her upcoming concerts at Co-op Live, in the midst of the crisis, have been canceled.

The pop icon was due to perform at the Manchester venue this weekend. But the singer was forced to cut short part of her GUTS world tour due to problems with the new venue.

In a statement released this evening (May 1), a spokesperson for Co-op Live said: “Due to an ongoing technical issue with the venue, planned performances of Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS World Tour on 3 and May 4 are postponed. can either keep their tickets or get a refund at point of purchase. The news comes after the Manchester-based arena announced on X tonight that the ‘A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’ concert would not go ahead as planned while fans queued outside. The American rapper’s concert was supposed to be the first official event at the venue which has been experiencing teething problems since its planned launch in April.

It has since been revealed that an air conditioner that fell from the ceiling was the cause of tonight’s cancellation. The shock announcement comes after weeks of unrest at the £365 million Eastlands site.

The arena was originally scheduled to open with a series of Peter Kay concerts starting April 23, but the comedian’s shows were postponed twice. The Black Keys, who were also expected to perform, agreed to postpone their show until May 15.
