Firefighters to the rescue after man finds himself locked out of his bedroom in York apartment

Firefighters came to the rescue of a man who was locked out of a room in his York apartment.

The door mechanism broke, meaning he was unable to enter the living room and kitchen of the property, located on Heslington Road, last night (Tuesday May 8).

His medication was in the room and the television was left on inside, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

Firefighters were on scene around 11:20 p.m. and accessed the closed room using “the power of the team,” a department spokesperson said.
