Wahconah Girls and Boys earn two dual meet victories / iBerkshires.com

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Wahconah’s Kathryn Perrone won three events Tuesday to lead her team to two dual meet victories over Lenox and Taconic in Hoosac Valley.

Perrone took first place in the 400 meters, 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles to lead his team in the final dual meets of the spring season.

Girls from Hoosac Valley and Lenox also had dual meet victories.

The Hurricanes swept the throws, earning wins from Hanna Shea (shot put), Taylor Garabedian (discus) and Abby Scialabba (javelin) on Senior Day.

The Lenox girls had victories from Nora Schoeny, Elyssa Scrimo and Gianna Love in the 800, 1600 and 3200, respectively.

Taconic’s Emma Daly was a triple winner, winning the 100 and 200 and winning the high jump.

The Taconic boys earned the narrowest team victory of the afternoon, edging Lenox by six points behind three-time winner Elijah Harewood.

Harewood won the 100 and 200m as well as the long jump.

The Lenox boys picked up a win against Hoosac Valley. Benjamin Harwood won the 800m and ran a leg of the Millionaires’ winning 4 x 800 relay.

The Wahconah boys won two dual meets behind two-time winners Liam Furlong and Payton Shippee.

Furlong swept the 110 and 400 hurdles. Shippee took first place in the shot put and discus.

County track and field athletes are preparing for Saturday’s county championship in Wahconah.
