Johnson and Vaulters win gold for St. Agnes at Track Meet in Scottsbluff

On Monday, the St. Agnes Alliance track and field teams traveled to Scottsbluff to compete in the BMS Invitational. Six teams participated. The top teams were the Lady Crusaders of the seventh division who finished with 69 points, which was good for fourth place overall.

Gering won the 7th grade team title with 124 points. SA finished sixth in the Grade 8 team race with 25 points. Scottsbluff won the event with 162 points. The St. Agnes 8th grade boys team finished fifth with 54 points, with Scottsbluff being the champion with 143 points. In the 7th grade boys team race, AMS was first with 160 points and St. Agnes was 6th with 38 points. St. Agnes had two first place finishes in seventh grade boys. Paxton Richey won the pole vault and Tripp Johnson was first in the mile. Jay Shelmadine won the 8th grade pole vault.

In the 7th grade girls division, Lady Crusaders Reese Armstrong and Alexis Shelmadine finished tied for first in the pole vault with an effort of 7’0.
