Sioux Valley track and field teams win LCC Meet

DE SMET – The Sioux Valley cross country teams each won Lake Central Conference titles Tuesday at De Smet High School.

Flandreau also competed and the Flier boys and girls finished third and fourth, respectively.

Boys
Sioux Valley
The Cossacks won first place in four individual events. Donovan Rose won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.65 seconds and finished first in the 300 meter hurdles (44.38). Skylar Trygstad won the 1,600 meters (4:54.32) and the 3,200 meters (10:42.73). Carson Wosje won the 800 meters (2:09.33).

Rose also finished second in the 100 meters (11.25). Brock Christopherson and Mitchell Guthmiller were second (2:11.50) and third (2:11.66) in the 800. Wyatt Hardt was third in the 300-meter hurdles (47.38) and fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (19. 54). Wosje finished fifth in the 400 meters (53.40).

The relay team of Wosje, Christopherson, Hunter Steinhaus and Brady Hiltunen finished second in the 4×400 relay (3:39.41). Hiltunen, Steinhaus, Logan Mohn and Tyson Norgaard finished second in the sprint medley relay (4:04.88). Rose, Jakob Guthmiller, Steinhaus and Hardt finished third in the 4×100 relay (46.77).

Wyatt Nelson took second in the javelin with a throw of 134 feet, four inches. He also finished fifth in the discus (127-11). Braden Danzeisen was second in the long jump (18-06.75) and third in the triple jump (38-09.00). Mitchell Guthmiller and Jakob Guthmiller finished second (5-10.00) and third (5-10.00), respectively, in the high jump. Braden Danzeisen was third (129-04) in the javelin and Jakob Guthmiller was fifth (124-09). Brody Haaland came fourth (18-03.50).

Flandreau
Brenton Westberry took second in the 400 meters (51.90) and fifth in the 100 meters (11.59). Tanner Reed finished third in the 1,600 meters (5:16.83). Sam Schmidt and Logan Kontz finished third (11:59.22) and fifth (12:00.28) in the 3,200-meter race.

The team of Westberry, Benjamin Klum, Micah Otto and Paul Parsley finished first in the 4×400 relay (3:37.62). Otto, Alexavier Poitra, Tucker Hemmer and Tanner Reed finished third in the sprint medley relay (4:08.88).

Lanz Dailey won the pole vault with a jump of 10 feet, six inches. Matthew Gassman and Sam Schmidt finished second (9-00.00) and fourth (8-06.00), respectively, in the pole vault. Micah Otto was fourth in the high jump (5-08.00) and Luke Sheppard was fifth in the long jump (18-03.00).

Girls
Sioux Valley
Adison Renkly won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.08 seconds. Isabelle Bloker and Tayla Vincent finished third (2:31.42) and fourth (2:31.65) respectively in the 800 meters. Vincent also finished second in the 1,600 meters (5:54.71). Liberty Trygstad finished fourth in the 1,600 meters (5:54.71) and 3,200 meters (12:34.80). Becka Renkly finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.32) and 300-meter hurdles (54.30). Audrey Larsn finished fifth in the 100 meters (13.58).

The Cossacks won four relay races. Adison Renkly, Abby Haaland, Caitlin Russell and Audrey Larsen won the 4×100 (54.03) and Vincent, Russell, Maci Licht and Summer Guthmiller won the 4×400 (4:26.39). Licht, Vincent, Trygstad and Bloker won the 4×800 (10:08.59) and Adison Renkly, Haaland, Summer Guthmiller and Licht won the sprint medley relay (4:43.76).

Summer Guthmiller won the discus with a throw of 112 feet, three inches and Savana Guthmiller came in second in the discus (104-10). Emma Gorvin won the high jump (4-11.00) and Rylley Behrens was third in the shot put (29-11.25). Adison Renkly finished fourth in the triple jump (31-06.00).

Flandreau
Faith Wiese won the 800 meters (2:21.72) and the 3,200 meters (11:18.93). Kiley Westberry won the 400 meters (2:21.72) and Morgan Sheppard won the 100 meters (13.39). Ella Hoffman finished fifth in the 400 meters (1:07.42).

The team of Wiese, Westberry, Hoffman and Sheppard finished third in the 4×400 relay (4:35.03).

Sadie Iott was second in the triple jump (32-07.50) and third in the long jump (14-11.50). Lily Klein came second in the shot put (30.05.50) and fifth in the discus (96-03).
