Wisconsin DMV announces 2 new license plates

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Division of Motor Vehicles revealed two new special license plates for drivers in a news release Wednesday, May 8.

The first is the suicide prevention plaque, the proceeds of which go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The second is the “Spay, Neuter, Adopt” plaque, which benefits The Fix Is In, Inc.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention aims to prevent suicide through education, fundraising and awareness. The Fix Is In, Inc. provides logistical and financial support for the sterilization of cats and dogs to reduce the need for shelters and prevent animal suffering.

Fees include a $25 contribution, a one-time $15 issuance fee and regular vehicle registration fees. Customization costs $15 more per year.

There are now 53 special plates available, viewable and orderable on the Wisconsin DMV website.
