“I took the job and they didn’t offer it” – Jelly Roll is ready to replace Katy Perry on ‘American Idol’ if they ask her

Judge Jelly roll.

Katy Perry recently announced that she was retiring American idol after seven seasons as a judge on the singing competition. And as she finishes her final season on the show, she’s already named her choice to replace her.

During an interview with E! NewsPerry was asked who she would like to see take her place alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie on the season 23 judging panel, and one name immediately came to mind:

“I have to say Jelly Roll was crazy when he came on the show. I was convinced of everything he said. He could run for president, he could be my pastor, I could go back to church for him…he could sell me anything. So to have one of those guys and Jelly on the show would be amazing.

And she says it’s Jelly’s ability to express his opinions constructively that makes him an ideal candidate for a place on the panel:

“I want someone who tells the truth, that’s what I want. I want someone who isn’t afraid to speak the truth with grace…

So just someone who has strong self-esteem and listens to their intuition.

That sounds like a pretty strong endorsement.

Of course, the question remained: Was Jelly Roll really interested in the job? And the answer is an enthusiastic “Yes”.

Jelly Roll was recently asked in an interview with KFRG’s Kelli & Guy on Audacity about the possibility of joining the programming on Idol, and it looks like he would jump at the chance to replace Katy Perry on the show:

“Of course, I love American Idol. I accepted the job and they didn’t offer it to me.

Of course, Jelly may be a natural choice for the series now that he has experience in this area. Idol. The country superstar recently served as a guest judge and mentor, where he seemed to really bond not only with his fellow judges, but also with the contestants he mentored.

So it looks like Idol producers just need to make a call and make it happen.
