EastEnders’ Kellie Bright shares friend’s shocked reaction to Linda’s twist

EastEnders actress Kellie Bright has revealed her friend’s reaction to Linda Carter being the Christmas Day Killer.

The soap had spent almost all of 2023 teasing that someone would be killed at the Queen Vic on December 25 and that the Six – half a dozen Walford women – were the prime suspects. It turns out Linda was the killer and Keanu Taylor the victim.

A few months after the reveal, Bright appeared on The One Show tonight (April 10) and recalled how her friends reacted to the big reveal.

“I watched it at home on Christmas Day with my husband, my kids were finally in bed and my best friends were there,” she said. “My husband knew, but my best friends didn’t, and they’re big fans.

“And I was literally sitting on my couch next to my friend, and he was like, ‘Oh no! Oh no, no, no!’, like he could stop me by holding my hand. It was a really lovely moment actually, to watch their reaction.”

She added that she was “really surprised” that Linda ended up being the killer, explaining: “I really didn’t see it coming at all. I thought I would be the last person to do it. When we m ‘explained how that would happen, I thought, ‘Okay, I can kind of see she’s not planning to kill him, she’s stopping him from killing her best friend.’

“It’s a moment of despair, of madness, of chaos,” she added. “I’ve been on the show for 10 years now and I thought it was a great episode. I was very proud to be a part of it.”

Since the murder, the Six have been desperately trying to cover it up, and this week they tried to pin the blame on Dean Wicks…but Linda’s risky plan could end up ruining everything.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30 p.m. on BBC One. The show is also broadcast on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes are broadcast early at 6am before their television broadcast. The One Show airs at 7pm on BBC One weekdays.
