Men caught on CCTV inside Hampshire house

Police have urged Asian communities to remain vigilant after a spate of burglaries targeting family gold.

There have been 19 incidents in the Eastleigh area this year, Hampshire Police said.

Preeti Nayyar told the BBC she was woken up by two men in her bedroom, “rummaging through my wardrobe”. She said gold jewelry worth £20,000 was stolen.

Inspector Matt Paling, Eastleigh district commander, said the burglaries were “very organized crime”.
