Coronation Street’s Gemma Winter surprised in Henry Newton’s return story

Coronation Street’s Gemma Winter-Brown is in for a surprise next week as Henry Newton’s comeback story continues.

Gemma, Chesney and the family have faced financial difficulties in recent times and it has been suggested that the wealthy brewery heir could potentially help her – although her husband is not keen on her getting back together with his former love.

In scenes set to air next week, Gemma remains determined that getting Henry a job is the best way to earn some much-needed cash.

She goes to work for Henry, lying to Chesney that she will work in a different department than his.

But it doesn’t take long for the ruse to be revealed, as Chesney sees Gemma getting into Henry’s car.

Will Chesney react angrily to Gemma’s lie, or will he let her continue quietly for now due to their desperate situation? And why does Henry really want to work with Gemma again?

In another upcoming story for the family, Gemma’s mother Bernie will cause friction with Dev Alahan as they organize a memorial for Shobna Gulati, and she suggests that Shobna’s spirit is stirring things up in the house .

Dev isn’t too happy with Bernie’s suggestion, and he lashes out asking her what she was trying to achieve with all her supernatural nonsense (her words, not ours).

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and is broadcast on ITVX.
