Rise at Nocatee takes shape

By Shaun Ryan

Rise at Nocatee, a new 55+ active living community located a mile from downtown Nocatee, just completed its 10,000 square foot clubhouse and public interest in the project increase.

General Manager Jerry Shafer encouraged people to visit and see the new facilities, which include a yoga room, fitness room, music and media room, arts and crafts room, games and a bar area.

Throughout its development, the Rise team has not forgotten that future residents will perhaps keep good memories of things from yesterday.

“We have a great vintage record player from the 1960s for our music and media room,” Shafer said. “It’s really cool.”

The 178 apartment buildings are currently under construction.

When completed, there will be 59 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments in the four-story 1000 building. There will be 119 one- and two-bedroom apartments in the five-story 2000 building. Floor plans start at 683 square feet and go up to 1,538 square feet.

“The units are coming together,” Shafer said. “We are currently installing kitchen and bathroom cabinets. We also produce tiled shower surrounds in bathrooms.

Building 1000 is expected to be completed around June 25. Building 2000 is expected to be completed around the first week of September.

All first level apartments will have screened porches.

So far, Rise at Nocatee has 24 approved applications, so that’s about 14% pre-rented. Shafer said a lot of people were calling or stopping by to see what was going on.

Of course, guided tours with helmet are always offered. Those interested can either stop by for a tour or make an appointment online. Tour participants will be asked to sign a liability waiver and will receive a safety helmet and construction vest. Shafer recommends that they wear closed shoes.
