Aurora man trying to meet woman early Thursday becomes victim of armed robbery

DAWN | An unidentified man who told police he had arranged some kind of meeting with a woman was robbed and shot to death by two men who were with him early Thursday.

Police have not revealed the purpose of the meeting, which led to the shooting around 3:45 a.m. Thursday morning.

“When the woman arrived, there were several people in the vehicle,” Aurora police spokesperson Sydney Edwards said in a statement. “Two men approached the victim and asked him to empty his pockets.”

When the man refused, one of the men who accompanied the woman opened fire.

“The suspects then fled the scene,” police said. “The victim was transported to hospital and is stable.”

Police said information about the suspects was limited, “as well as other information regarding the relationships between the individuals involved.”
