Royal Boys Win West Sioux Meet

HAWARDEN – The MMCRU track and field teams traveled Thursday to compete in the Stephanie Streit Memorial Track Meet, hosted by West Sioux.

The MMCRU boys won the competition with 169 points while Hinton finished second with 121 and Lawton-Bronson third with 102. The Royal girls placed fifth with 59 points while Hinton won with 138, Lawton-Bronson took second place with 123 and Western Christian arrived. in third with 76.

For the Royal Boys, Kaden Galles won the 1600 meter and 3200 meter races with times of 4:52.25 in the 1600 and 11:12.53 in the 3200, Wyatt Alesch took first place in the 800 meter in 2:08.22, Gage Johnson took the gold in the 400-meter hurdles in 56.55 seconds, Lucas Braun won the high jump event with a six-foot leap, and Mitchell Schnepf won the throw of the disc with a draw of 138-05. Brandon Dreckman was second in the 800 meters in 2:12.52, Braun was second in the long jump with 20-08.50 and Clint Staab placed second in the 3,200 meters in 11:37.50 and third in the 1,600 meters at 5:09:34. Jace Colling took third in the 400 meters in 53.39 seconds, Schnepf was third in the 400 meters in 53.39 seconds. the shot put at 42-07.50 and Michael Peterson placed fourth in the 100 meters with 11.58 seconds while Kaden Steffen followed in fifth with 11.68 seconds. Peterson was fifth in the shot put with 40-07, Luke Kintigh placed fifth in the high jump with 5-04 and Xander Tentinger was fifth in the long jump with 18-09. Dreckman was fifth in the 400-meter dash with 57.64 seconds, Jacob Pick placed sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with 19.04 seconds and Carter Astidias placed sixth in the discus with 112-10.

In the relays, the 4×800 meter relay team won with a time of 8:51.84 while the distance medley team took the gold medal in 3:47.94. The 4×400-meter relay team took second place with a time of 3:34.97 and the shuttle hurdles team finished third with a time of 1:10.93. The 4 × 200 meter relay team placed fourth in 1:36.96, the sprint medley team came in sixth in 1:47.50 and the 4 × 100 meter relay team finished sixth in 46.69 seconds.

In the Royal Girls’ individual events, Alisa Pajazetovic won the 3000 meters with a time of 13:2.2.06 while Audrey Etter followed in second in 13:31.22. Tia Tentinger was third in the 400 meters in 1:12.79, Kara Moos was third in the 400 meters hurdles in 1:20.62 and Etter was fourth in the 1500 meters in 6:11.13 while Pajazetovic followed in fifth place in 6:15.52. . Sophie Etter was fifth in the 400 meters in 1:23.56, Chloe Alesch placed fifth in the 800 meters in 3:07.73 and Olivia Spenner was sixth in the discus at 87 feet even.

In the relays, the distance medley team took third place with a time of 5:32.22, while the shuttle hurdles team finished third with a time of 1:22.96. The 4 × 100 meter relay team placed fifth in 57.15 seconds and the 4 × 800 meter relay team placed fifth in 12:51.81. The 4×200 meter relay team finished sixth 2:04.70 and the 4×400 meter relay team placed sixth in 5:14.83.

The Royals were scheduled to compete in the state qualifying meet in Armstrong on Thursday at 4 p.m.
