She also worked at the Bistro, but left in 2022 to become legal secretary to Dee-Dee Bailey at Barlow Legal Services and held that position until recently, when she was poached by rival firm, Fabian’s .

Rich, a boss at Fabian, was impressed by Alya after she made an appointment in Adam Barlow’s place and accepted her job offer.

In subsequent episodes, Rich suggests that Alya go work on a big legal project in Dublin, which she jumped at the chance to take on.

The storyline made it easier for Sair to go on maternity leave, but Coronation Street fans have always taken issue with the speed at which Alya’s legal career has progressed.

On X – formerly Twitter – one wrote: “Does Alya have a Law Degree or did she take a law conversion course?! This story about her becoming a great lawyer is a joke! »

Another added: “She was office junior the other week, but that’s okay, she has a big book on contract law, so she’ll be qualified by the time she gets off the plane!”

A third tweeted: “When Alya McBeal returns from Dublin will she be a lawyer #Corrie @itvcorrie no legal study required.”

Meanwhile, a fourth raged: “Last year Alya was a bistro waitress. Now she claims to be a top lawyer. Ridiculous writing.”

Alya was seen leaving the Cobbles in Wednesday’s episode of the ITV soap, and hours later Sair revealed she had given birth to her first child.

Announce it news this evening on Instagram, she wrote: “He’s here!

Corrie controversy: Fans divided over fate of Nazir family

“Okay, when I said ‘Spring Awakening’ in my last post, I didn’t mean ‘keeping’ me awake. The new zombie parent look is definitely a thing, isn’t it.

“Most importantly, our little boy is just wonderful. Very serious and curious about the world. He is super strong and so resilient for joining me on the absolute roller coaster that was our 22 hour shift.

“We didn’t really have the birth I was hoping for but that’s okay (two birthing pools, no water birth).”

Sair called the work “raw and primitive” and admitted to finding the early days of maternity a steep learning curve.

Coronation Street shocker leaves 2024

Corrie said goodbye to several cast members this year. Let’s describe who left the famous soap opera:

Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo) has said goodbye to Corrie to start a new life in Germany.

The girl moved to live with her father Dom Everett, who reneged on the £10,000 bribe Eliza’s grandfather Stu had offered her to keep him out of her life.

Paul Foreman will bow out of the soap opera this summer when he loses his battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in tragic scenes.

After being diagnosed last year, the fan favorite, played by Peter Ash, was devastated to learn he only had months to live.

Viewers know that he is considering suicide to end his suffering.

Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) left the cobbles after being offered the opportunity of a lifetime to study in America.

Although she had difficulty making up her mind with the impending death of her father-in-law Paul, she was convinced that she should live her life to the fullest.

Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) struggled with his father Peter’s sudden departure from the cobbles.

The Weatherfield legend left his family and loved ones behind on Boxing Day 2023, when his wife Carla Connor encouraged him to travel the world with a friend.

Since then, Simon has been on a downward spiral and his exit could end in tragedy.

Alya Nazir is preparing to leave the cobbles as actress Sair Khan prepares to go on maternity leave ahead of the birth of her first child.

It seems likely she will head to Dublin after securing a lucrative new job, leaving her colleague behind and leaving Adam Barlow behind.

Show stalwart Eileen Grimshaw is taking a break to perform on the Sister Act The Musical UK tour.

She had to leave the streets immediately after her son Jason broke his back after falling off a moped in Asia. She will return to filming in May once her tour dates are completed.

She continued: “Somehow we are off the beaten path and I am incredibly grateful for our healthy baby, for Nathan and for the incredible support network around us for their patience, their generosity and late-night voice notes that kept me going.

“Has anyone else ever felt like a DJ beat is coming out of your breast pump at 3 a.m. or is that crazy?!”

Sair met her partner Nathan – a chiropractor – in 2021, two years after splitting from fellow soap star Simon Lennon.
