President Biden Mistakes Candace Parker for ‘Coach’ in Epic Mistake During Aces’ White House Visit

Thursday, May 9, 2024, Las Vegas Aces, 2024, WNBA champions were invited to the White House to celebrate their back-to-back championships with President Biden, Vice President Harris and the First Lady. THE the entire Las Vegas Aces team, including players, coaches and staff. President Biden, Vice President Harris and First Lady Jill Biden were in attendance.

Candace Parker was not present in Las Vegas Aces recent visit to the White House to celebrate their championship victory. Parker played for the Aces in 2023.

“Whi she I could not be here,» Biden said, referring to the WNBA legend.I want to recognize someone WHO we consider one of the greatest coaches of all time – Candace Parker.”

Note: Candace Parker was a phenomenal WNBA player, but coaching was never part of her professional career so far. Parker, who played 16 seasons in the WNBA, retired from the Aces in April 2024.

In addition, President Biden and Vice President Harris congratulated the entire Aces organization, including players, coaches and staff, on their back-to-back victories.

Biden also acknowledged the growing popularity of women’s basketball and praised the Aces for their contributions to the sport. There was even a mention of notable players like A’Ja Wilson and Chelsea Gray. Fun fact: Wilson and Gray both gave the President and Vice President personalized jerseys!

Coming to the Las Vegas Aces, the team is on a roll! They doesn’t I just won a championship, they realized a historic feat by winning back-to-back championships.

2022 WNBA Championship: It was the franchises first championship and first professional sports championship in Las Vegas itself. They defeated the Connecticut Sun in 4 games in the finals. Head coach Becky Hammon was named Coach of the Year for her outstanding performance.

2023 WNBA Championship: The Aces once again secured their spot as WNBA champions by defeating the New York Liberty in a hard-fought Game 4 with a final score of 70-69. The victory made them the first team to win back-to-back championships since the Los Angeles Sparks in 2000-2001. A’ja Wilson, star player of the Aces, shined throughout the season and the playoffs. Candace Parker who won championships with other teams (2016 with the Los Angeles Sparks and 2012 with the Chicago Sky), joined the Aces for the 2023 season but unfortunately missed the playoffs due to injury.
