Skylar Astin has a message for fans who stick with the show until the end, so help me, Todd has been canceled

It’s been a few weeks since CBS issued the order canceling So help me Todd, but the cast handled the news with grace. In fact, series lead Skylar Astin still avidly supports the show he believes in so much. In fact, he had a message for the faithful Todd fans unhappy with the cancellation but who chose to hold on until his final weeks.

Astin posts about the episodes as they have aired since So help me Todd became one of major shows canceled in 2024. This week, he mentioned that the May 9 episode “The Broker” was among the best produced by the series and in another article. Instagram post he extolled what is yet to come, while writing. “We are so proud of them.” He also thanked the “Toddies” for investing in the series even if it didn’t exactly yield the expected results.

Even though we haven’t been renewed for another season, Todd isn’t done yet!…Thank you to all the fans who have watched and continue to watch. I had the thrill of my life playing this role, working with these cast and crew, and entertaining you all! Toddies 4 Life!

Meanwhile, of all the major network cancellations this season, the So help me Todd the fans were among the loudest. It seems the series has a passionate fan base, so why was So help me Todd canceled in the first place ?

We delved into this topic before this article, and the main reason isn’t what you think. Many reports pointed out that the Marcia Gay Harden and Skylar Astin series were among the network’s lowest-rated programs. You can argue that these numbers are better than those posted by other networks, but it’s still not a great result for Eye Network. However, in a less busy television season, the series might have gone unnoticed.

The real reason for the ax? CBS has some bangers cooking right now. There is the NCIS: Origins the fallout (and the Tony and Ziva one, although that comes down to Paramount Plus). THE TV schedule 2024 is going to have a lot of newcomers this fall, and CBS needed to make room for those. So even though they were fans of the legal drama, it was time to say goodbye.

The comments on Astin’s post are still upset by the news, and I don’t really blame them. There are only a few network television shows on the air at any given time that are able to survive while being as original as So help me Todd, and usually these off-the-beaten-path shows are the ones that have the toughest roads ahead of them. I understand. I usually encourage them to succeed too.

This show needs to be saved. It’s the only thing on television that really impressed me.
