On May 2, students from Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools (RDCRS) traveled to Edmonton to participate in a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) boot camp.

27 lucky students and four staff members participated in this opportunity offered in partnership with the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET) and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT).

The camp offered students in grades 9-12 the chance to interact with NAIT electrical engineering technology and mechanical engineering technology faculty.

Cameron Peddle, a student at St. Joseph High School, said the camp solidified his decision to pursue a career in mechanical engineering, a passion he has had since 11th grade.
