Housebroken: canceled; No season 3 for FOX animated series About Pets – TV shows and audiences renewed + canceled

It’s time for therapy for these animals. FOX canceled the Familiar series, so there will be no third season. The 18-episode second season concluded in August 2023.

An animated comedy series, the Familiar The TV show stars Lisa Kudrow, Will Forte, Clea DuVall, Nat Faxon, Sharon Horgan, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson and Jason Mantzoukas, with Bresha Webb, Greta Lee and Maria Bamford in guest roles. The series follows a group of neighborhood pets and strays as they work through their problems inside and outside of their therapy group. Honey (Kudrow), a standard poodle, opens her living room for the group to come and support each other through the misery, chaos, and majesty that comes with being a pet. Honey is also dealing with her own problems, like her arranged marriage (by her human) to Chief (Faxon), a sloppy St. Bernard who likes to eat socks and lick himself..

Aired on Sunday evenings, the second season of Familiar averaged a 0.12 rating among 18-49 demographics and 491,000 viewers. Compared to the first season, that’s a 54% drop in the demo and a 46% drop in viewership in live and same-day audiences (including DVR playback until 3:00 a.m.). It was FOX’s lowest-rated scripted series of the 2022-23 season.

While Familiar is over, FOX animated series Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, Krapopolis, And The simpsons will all return for the 2024-25 television season. The fate of The big North has not yet been announced.
