The 23-year-old detailed “the scariest thing that ever happened to her” in a TikTok video in which she explained the moment she saw the scary message and how moving hotels didn’t help.

Returning to his hotel on the second day of his trip around 11 p.m., Garbe took a shower.

Thanks to the steam caused by the hot water, a message appeared on the bathroom mirror saying: “There is a camera behind here” with a drawing of a camera flash.

“I panic, I get out of the shower and I call one of my bosses and I’m like, ‘What should I do?’ and she said, ‘You have to leave,'” Garbe recalled.

After going to the front desk, she was told that the rest of the hotel rooms were occupied, so her only option was to stay or leave and find another hotel.

Garbe does the latter and finds another hotel 30 minutes away where she immediately goes with her hair still wet from the shower.

However, once she checks into her new room and FaceTimes her boyfriend, another terrifying incident occurs that leaves Garbe petrified.

The landline in her room started ringing and, thinking she might have forgotten to provide some payment information when checking in, Garbe picked up the phone.

“On the other end of the line is the voice of an old man,” Garbe said.

“And he said to me, ‘Hello, I saw you in Dallas, I wanted to let you know I thought you were pretty, Grace.'”

Her “heart sank” and she told her boyfriend she had to leave, saying: “Someone is following me.”

Garbe ended up staying at a co-worker’s apartment after contacting police who came to the hotel but said they could not take action because the man on the phone had not made any threats to her regard.

She added that police cannot demand phone records from the hotel, but when asked for them, the man at the front desk said no calls had been made to the hotel’s room. Garbe that night.

Garbe called it “a lesson in why you need to take precautions when staying in a hotel, especially alone.”

Viewers of the video were left stunned by both incidents, with one saying: “OMG why did they say you didn’t get any phone calls? That would have given me chills.”

“This is absolutely terrifying,” added another.

“I won’t sleep peacefully after this,” wrote a third.

Meanwhile, some female viewers shared their safety tips when traveling alone.

“I always ask for two room keys when traveling alone for work, hoping the front desk will think someone is with me,” one said.
