EastEnders star Kellie Bright shocked by Christmas death outcome

EastEnders star Kellie Bright shocked by Christmas death outcome

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders star Kellie Bright admitted she was “completely shocked” by the near death on Christmas Day.

In a shock flash-forward scene broadcast earlier this year, it was confirmed that six women from Walford – including Bright’s character Linda Carter, Denise Fox, Kathy Cotton, Sharon Watts, Stacey Slater and Suki Panesar – would witness or somehow involved in the death of a mysterious man on Christmas Day.

The soap recently revealed that Phil Mitchell, Jack Branning, Ravi Gulati, Nish Panesar, Keanu Taylor, Rocky Cotton and Dean Wicks were the unlucky men on the chopping block – and Bright has now teased that the outcome took her by surprise.

“I was completely shocked. Completely, completely shocked. It wasn’t what I thought it was going to be,” she shared.

The soap star continued: “I understand there are a lot of theories going around about who it could be. Up until filming, I was one of them.

“So what I can say is what it’s been like for us as a cast, and to be honest, we haven’t talked about much else in months!

“So I can only imagine that people watching the show feel the same way. It’s exciting.”

When asked how it felt to be part of the big storyline, Bright added: “I feel really privileged. For me, I arrived at Christmas. I started on the show on Boxing Day 2013, so when I first arrived at the square everything was decorated with Christmas paraphernalia.

“There’s something about it, and being there when the show is filming Christmas, even in years where I haven’t been too involved in the storyline, but when you’re right there it’s different, it’s special.

“It’s that time of year when I think, ‘Ah, I’m in EastEnders.’ I love him, I really, really love him.”

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30 p.m. on BBC One. The show is also broadcast on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes are broadcast early at 6am before their television broadcast.
