New Skyrim mod brings awesome change inspired by Cyberpunk 2077

For every “UltraPleasure 7.0 from TurboChadd”, there is a Skyrim the mod is definitely worth downloading. The most popular creations remain texture overhauls and UI improvements all these years later, with players responding well to the small, unobtrusive, quality-focused changes. This is why my mission is to separate the wheat from the chaff; the useful of the senseless. To that end, I found yet another small but impactful Skyrim creation, and this one is inspired by CD Projekt Red’s work on The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077.

“Modern Wait Menu” is a Skyrim mod that modifies the wait menu. Taking inspiration from CDPR’s most recent waiting mechanic design, this should make a small part of the Bethesda RPG smoother than ever. When it comes to Skyrim, it’s the little things.

If you have to wait in Skyrim, you will now encounter an interactive time wheel, weather indicators, as well as the current time and the destination time you are waiting for. It’s not much on paper, but it’s certainly better than the line Vanilla Skyrim uses. It’s even compatible with dynamic weather mods and supports controllers, making this creation a must-have.

If you’re excited about the prospect of the fan-made Skyblivion rework – which remakes Oblivion in the Skyrim engine – you’ll be happy to know that this is the second mechanic in this Skyrim-ported project. We already have the much better Oblivion lockpicking system in Skyrim, and now the team’s overhaul of the waiting mechanic as well.

I’ve always loved the little changes to Skyrim because the core Bethesda experience still holds up. The exploration, story, and world are all excellent, so I appreciate mods that leave that intact while sanding down the rough edges that come with time.

You’ll find the modern wait menu for the “Fallen01135” mod (with credit to “Heavy Burns”) here, with compatibility configured for font replacement mods and other UI revisions. You can even easily install it while saving, so you don’t need to venture out from Helgen for the umpteenth time.

If another modded playthrough of Skyrim isn’t enough for you, we’ve got everything you need to know about the Elder Scrolls 6 release date and a lineup of games like Skyrim to keep you busy until release.
