Reward offered to alleged shooter of singer’s dog walker after mistaken release from prison

A $5,000 reward has been offered as police continue to search for a man believed to be involved in the attempted murder of Lady Gaga’s dog walker, after he was accidentally released from prison.

James Howard Jackson was being held for attempted murder, but he was released from a prison in Los Angeles “due to a clerical error,” the sheriff’s department said in April.

Months later, the 19-year-old continues to elude police, who are now offering a $5,000 (£4,100) reward for information leading to his arrest.

Jackson is one of three men accused of also stealing two of the star’s French bulldogs in February 2021.

Prosecutors say Jackson and two other alleged gang members drove around looking for expensive French bulldogs to steal on Feb. 24 last year.

They then spotted, followed and robbed Ryan Fischer while he was walking the dogs belonging to Lady Gaga near Sunset Boulevard, it is claimed.

During a violent struggleFischer was punched, choked and then shot in an attack captured on a nearby home’s doorbell camera, according to prosecutors.

The video shows the dog walker screaming, “Oh, my God! I was shot!” and “Help me!” and “I’m bleeding from my chest!”

U.S. Marshals said Jackson should be considered “armed and dangerous” and urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to report him immediately to police.
