UK viewers shocked by ‘fully erect’ penis scene in new Netflix drama

Netflix has come under fire after viewers were confronted with “low quality porn” in its latest drama.

The series broke the “last TV taboo” when one of its main characters revealed his fully erect penis.

It is believed to be the first time an erection has been fully exposed in a mainstream TV series on British television.

And people aren’t impressed, with everyone from glasses box from stars to MPs who weigh in on the sassy scene.

The six-part series received generally mixed reviews, but its final episode left viewers reeling, presenting a spectacle that’s hard to ignore.

In the episode, actor Tom Pelphrey’s character, Raymond Peepgrass, has just taken Viagra. He then drops his sheet in front of Croker to reveal…well, everything.

Although the show carries a warning for “sex, language, sexual references, sexual images, details of injuries,” it does not provide any warnings for the scene.

And unsurprisingly, people have had a lot to say about it.

Mary Killen glasses box star and Spectator columnist – said: “I don’t want to see explicit sexual images when I watch a drama. There are already too many of them and it reduces us to nothing better than barnyard animals.

“Viewers should not be forced to watch pornography. This trend will end in tears because it is depressing, without mystery and takes away some of the magic from life.”

Radio 4 contributor Anne Atkins wrote: “Where are the limits now, Netflix? A visibly erect penis is not only revolting to many normal viewers, but artistically completely unnecessary: ​​a downward glance, a raised eyebrow would have does much more.”

And Tory MP Alexander Stafford said: “If Netflix is ​​offering this kind of low-quality pornographic rubbish, we need to give Ofcom full oversight of the streaming giant’s output as soon as possible. »

The scene highlighted concerns about the regulation of streaming services, with fears that children could be in danger.

Conservative MP Sara Britcliffe added: “Streaming services are available at any time of day, so catchment protection does not apply. »

And Tanya Carter, of the Safe Schools Alliance, said: “Once again we question why the Government is failing to act on this multi-pronged attack on children. »
