BAFTA 2024: camera captures Judi Love during Lorraine’s speech

Judi Love has spoken out for the first time after she was spotted “snubbing” Lorraine Kelly at the BAFTA TV Awards last night.

The Loose Women star, 43, had the perfect response after she was filmed unimpressed in the crowd as everyone applauded Lorraine, 64, as she received a special award at the ceremony.

On Instagram, she shared a clip of the moment and wrote: “After the incident last night and now this morning it’s making international news! I would like to make an official statement… Swipe left! @lorraine @lorrainekellysmith.”

In the following clip from this morning at the ITV studios, Judi and Lorraine stand back to back, with Judi looking sideways at the Scottish legend. Feigning a look of disapproval, Lorraine has her arms crossed before they both burst out laughing.

Lorraine took to the stage to receive her award on Sunday evening to mark 40 years on television, which was presented to her by Succession star Brian Cox. As she bowed out of her acceptance speech, Lorraine happily joked: “I’m on TV tomorrow, but I’m going to party tonight.” Thank you very much!” Cameras then showed I’m A Celeb hosts Ant and Dec smiling maniacally while clapping. Then The Sixth Commandment star Anne Reid was shown clapping politely.

Lorraine couldn’t hold back her laughter

But as the cameras panned to Judi, she could be seen far from impressed, seemingly refusing to clap and rolling her eyes. The moment was captured by those watching the awards ceremony from home, triggering a wave of amused comments.

Following Judi’s post this morning, her fans flocked to comment, with one writing with a laughing and crying emoji: “Bombastic BAFTA side eye!” While another commented: “Love this! Don’t change Judi at all!” Mnek wrote: “Been yelling at you all morning.”

Lorraine was visibly emotional last night as she approached to receive her award, telling the crowd of famous faces: “It’s such an honor, I’d really like to thank everyone I’ve worked with over the course for the last 40 years I’m proud to work on breakfast and daytime TV, we campaign but we also have fun.
