According to a report, Topic’s injury was not as serious as it appeared.

SAN ANTONIO — 2024 NBA Draft prospect Nikola Topic has avoided any serious injury to his left knee and will be ready for NBA pre-draft activities, according to a report.

This is great news for the 18-year-old, who is expected to be a top-10 draft pick.

Topic suffered a non-contact injury to his left knee during the first match of the AdmiralBet ABA League Final against Partizan Mozzart Bet.

A video surfaced of the playmaker having to be helped off the field and into the locker room because he couldn’t put weight on the injured knee.

It’s the same left knee that kept him out of action for nearly four months in January.

The San Antonio Spurs own the Nos. 4 and 8 picks in the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft, and many believe the team could look to add help at the point guard position.

As noted, the good news is that the injury wasn’t that serious; he is young, he would not participate in the Adriatic League final to heal and would participate in the repechage activities.

However, will his injury history force teams to pause when considering him as a potential player? Will the Spurs use one of their top 10 picks on a teenager with a history of left knee issues?

In the EuroLeague with Mega Basket, he averaged 18.4 points, 7.1 assists, one steal and 25.9% from the three-point line in 12 games played during the 2023-24 season. He is a dynamic 6’6″ point guard with incredible passing ability and can pressure the defense in the paint. His defense is mediocre and his shooting ability could use some work.
