Prince Harry and Meghan’s non-profit organization, the Archewell Foundation, has donated funds to Save the Children for the humanitarian response to the 2022 Nigeria floods.

Gemma Sherrington, CEO of Save the Children UK, said: “We are honored that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took time out of their busy schedules in Nigeria to learn about the work being done by Save the Children, alongside our youth advocates and partners, to ensure children not just survive but thrive.

“Child Champions and Young Ambassadors are the beating heart of our work in Nigeria, so for two of them to have this opportunity to speak with Prince Harry and Meghan and shine a spotlight on their tireless advocacy for protection of children’s rights is phenomenal.

Last week Harry was seen chatting and playing games with bereaved military children as he made a surprise visit to a charity event in London.

Harry spent the afternoon with 50 children and young people, aged six to 22, who have experienced the death of a military parent.

He took part in games – including one where the Duke used a straw to carry Smarties as quickly as possible – and spoke to young people at the fun event in London organized by Scotty’s Little Soldiers.

Harry also spent time speaking with nine members of Scotty’s Council, a group of young people who represent other members of the association, who discussed their experience of growing up without a parent.
