Lane Thomas could be ready for rehab assignment this week – MLB News

32 minutes agoWashington Nationals outfielder Lane Thomas (knee) could be ready to begin his rehab assignment this week, according to Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports. Thomas suffered a grade 2 MCL sprain on April 23 and has competed in some races over the past week. If all goes well during Thomas’ rehab stay, he could return to the Nationals lineup by the end of May. The 28-year-old was performing well below his standards before his MCL sprain, hitting just a .503 OPS in 96 plate appearances. Based on his expected stats, he should regress positively and get closer to his standards upon his return, with a good portion of his value coming from stolen bases (11 on the season). Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status, although he may be better as a bench option rather than a starter.Kevin Larson – RotoBaller
