Huron County Public Health announces Gold Plate Award winners

Huron County Public Health (HCPH) announced the winners of the 2023 Gold Plate Awards, according to a press release.

Huron County Registered Environmental Health Specialists perform a wide variety of public health functions, including inspection, regulation and enforcement of public health laws regarding food facilities, the release states.

The Gold Plate Award is recognition given to food service establishments that maintain excellent food safety practices, according to the release.

The awards are presented annually and are based on establishments’ ability to meet certain criteria, encouraging compliance with the Ohio Uniform Food Safety Code, the release states.

The Gold Plate Award program is voluntary and facilities must apply to be considered.

The 2023 Huron County Gold Plate Award winners are:

• East Chicago Pizza in Greenwich

• First United Methodist Daycare and Preschool in Bellevue

• Oma’s Belgian Waffles & Café LLC in Greenwich

• The Candy Depot in Bellevue

• Vargo’s Drive-In in Norwalk
