Kylian Mbappe was seen mocking Harry Kane after his missed penalty against France.

Kane slammed a late penalty over the bar as England suffered World Cup heartbreak on Saturday night.

The England captain had already beaten his Tottenham teammate Hugo Lloris once from 12 yards, but missed the target with his second as France won 2-1 to reach the semi-finals.

After Kane’s miss, Mbappe couldn’t hide his joy as France celebrated.

Mbappe was kept relatively quiet by England but his reaction added to a painful evening for the Three Lions.

It was cruel for Kane, who had earlier equaled Wayne Rooney’s all-time England record with his 53rd international goal.

Had the Spurs striker scored his second penalty, he would have overtaken Rooney to become England’s all-time top scorer.

Speaking after the match, England midfielder Jordan Henderson said: “We know how many penalties Harry scored for us, how many goals he contributed to get us here. He will be stronger for it in the future. He’s a world-class striker and our captain, he’s going to bounce back.

France and Mbappe will now face Morocco in the semi-final after the African team beat Portugal 1-0.
