Radu Dragusin’s heartfelt message that highlights Tottenham’s transfer adaptation

Radu Dragusin has revealed he has “felt an incredible sense of belonging” since joining Tottenham from Genoa in the January transfer window. Making a big impression in Italy with the Liguria-based club, Spurs quickly made their move for the Romanian international as Ange Postecoglou looked to bolster the team’s defense.

Despite some late interest from Bayern Munich, the youngster opted to move to Tottenham even though the German giants could offer him Champions League football. Limited to substitute appearances initially following his move to N17, Dragusin’s first real first-team opportunity came as a substitute in the 4-0 triumph at Aston Villa.

With Micky van de Ven injured early in the second half, the 22-year-old spent 41 minutes in the tank at Villa Park as they went on a rampage against their Champions League rivals. Started by Postecoglou in the next two matches against Fulham and Luton Town, Dragusin should wait until the penultimate match of the season for his next start.

Named in the squad against Man City with Van de Ven moving to left-back due to a lack of numbers in that position, the Romanian delivered an outstanding performance against the Premier League’s best and was the best player Spurs of the evening. Retaining his place in the team for the final game of the season at Sheffield United, Dragusin delivered another strong performance as the side secured Europa League football for the 2024/25 campaign.

The player also managed to antagonize the home fans during the first half of the competition after stepping in to offer Guglielmo Vicario some protection against Blades defender Auston Trusty. After punching the former Arsenal player to prevent him from disrupting the Spurs goalkeeper, the home fans laughed loudly when he pushed the centre-back away just before Jack Robinson’s throw-in. who tripped him.
