Owl caught in fishing line rescued from a tree in KY’s Natural Bridge State Resort

SLADE, Ky. (FOX 56) – An owl is recovering at a rehabilitation center after being rescued from Natural Bridge State Resort.

In a Facebook post Sunday afternoon, Natural Bridge State Resort Park thanked good Samaritan campers and park staff for helping save a barred owl.

The injured owl was in a tree, caught in fishing line, according to the park.

Park officials said he is now at Raptor Rehabilitation of Kentucky in Louisville, hoping for a full recovery.

Natural Bridge State Resort Park reminded visitors to be aware of wildlife when fishing and other outdoor activities.

“Follow the principles of leave no trace and pick up your trash, remove fishing lines if possible, and do not feed wildlife,” the park said in the Facebook post.
