BERNAMA – CANCELLATION OF SHARUL CHANNA’S LICENSE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT POLICE VIDEO REPORTS RELATED TO 3R ISSUES

KUALA LUMPUR, May 20 (Bernama) — The permission granted to popular comedian Sharul Channa to perform in Malaysia by the Central Agency for Filming and Performance Applications of Foreign Artists (Puspal) has been canceled after taking taking into account police reports filed one of his old videos which allegedly touched on issues of race, religion and royalty (3R), said Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

He said Puspal had received information from the police that several reports had been filed regarding the Singaporean comedian’s video, which had recently been re-uploaded online.

“I was made to understand that the video uploaded to promote the show was uploaded recently and as a result of the video, several police reports were filed, and these reports indicated that it was related to the problems of the 3Rs.

“It may be an old video, but the police reports are about 3R issues. So Puspal received that information and made a decision based on that scenario,” he told reporters after attending at the gala evening and press conference for the film “Mémoires”. Seorang Guru’ here tonight.

Earlier, Sharul expressed his disappointment in a video posted on Facebook after his permit for the comedy show “Just Joking” at the Petaling Jaya Live Arts Center was canceled by Puspal two days before the event.

Fahmi said Puspal’s action also served to remind local and foreign artists not to address 3R issues that could affect national harmony.

“In Malaysia, if we address the issue of the 3Rs, the authorities will act, and this is my reminder to social media users and artists. This issue is within the jurisdiction of the police to investigate,” he said. -he declares.
