Porsche accident in Pune: Minor accused filmed drinking in pub before accident | Watch

A new video has emerged in the Pune Porsche accident case, a day after the 17-year-old accused was released on bail. Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra assembly Vijay Wadettiwar posted the video on X and demanded a judicial probe into the accident in which two technicians lost their lives.

In the video, the 17-year-old boy, who allegedly crashed into the bike of two technicians, Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa, was seen in a pub with other people. Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa, who belonged to Madhya Pradesh, died on the spot after the accident.

Sharing the video, Vijay Wadettiwar questioned the investigation carried out by the Pune police and the manner in which the accused minor gained access to alcohol. The Congress leader asked why the police action against the accused minor’s father took place with much delay.

“There should be a judicial inquiry into the Pune accident which claimed the lives of two innocent people. There is a question mark over the investigation by the Pune police, which is why a judicial inquiry should be conducted in this case. Police reported that the blood alcohol test of the accused in the Pune accident came back negative. The CCTV footage of the accused, who is a minor, is drunk and this report raises a question mark over the police investigation,” wrote Vijay Wadettiwar in Marathi.

“How did the minor accused gain access to alcohol? How did an unregistered car end up on the road in Pune? Are bars and pubs opening breaking the rules? If so, why is there no action against them? Why did it take so long to arrest the father of the accused knowing that he is a minor? Therefore, we demand a judicial inquiry into the said incident as well as an inquiry into the Pune police in this matter,” he added.

In the video, the 17-year-old accused can be seen in a pub, having drinks with people who appear to be his friends. “City police have arrested the bar owner and bar manager who were serving liquor to the minor accused on the night of the accident,” Pune CP Amitesh Kumar told ANI.

Police arrested the father of the accused minor, who is a prominent real estate developer in the city, and booked him under sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act.

The minor accused was released on bail by the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) on May 20, with conditions including writing an essay about the accident and working with the traffic police for 15 days .
