Miami Teens Are Going Viral on TikTok for Epic Fairytale-Inspired Looks and Prom Arrivals: See Them All!

Booker T. Washington students gain attention on social media for putting in top-notch effort in prom appearances

Prom is no joke for the students at Booker T. Washington High School.

With prom season in full swing, it’s no surprise that teens are taking to social media to show off their extravagant looks to close out the school year.

However, the kids attending the Miami school party are going viral on TikTok for making some of the most extravagant dresses and costumes in modern prom fashion history.

It all started when Camilo Castro, a recent Booker T. Washington graduate who goes by @laylow_camilo on TikTok and Instagram, uploaded two videos of his classmates’ elaborate prom outfits, many of which took costume inspiration iconic from popular fairy tales and Disney films. .

A couple decided to dress up as Beauty and the Beast The beauty and the Beast (and yes, one half of the duo committed to wearing a realistic helmet over their blue costume). Another duet dedicated to Cinderella and Prince Charming, arriving in a carriage.

Two other students dressed up as Princess Jasmine and Aladdin and had their outfits perfected, except they didn’t fly on a magic carpet (or team up on a hoverboard designed to look like one). Instead, they arrived in a gleaming Mercedes-Benz car and greeted people through the sunroof.

Castro’s two TikTok videos received millions and thousands of comments from strangers marveling at the opulent outfits, with some going so far as to compare the local event to the Met Gala. The extravaganza was also well-received in real life, as crowds of onlookers can be seen exalting the students in Castro’s clips.

Luxury prom nights are not uncommon in the area.

Miami Northwestern Senior High School students have gone viral for several years thanks to their looks and elevated transportation to prom. According to Miami HeraldLamborghinis, Mercedes Benzes, BMWs and Rolls Royces, as well as a Tesla Cybertruck escorted by police, were seen at the scene of the school’s 2024 prom night, which was theme “Majestic beauty: a night of elegance and class”.

“This is the norm,” said Tyeshia Bryant, a Northwestern alumna, who shared video of the epic arrivals on social media. “But this course raised the bar a little higher because everyone understood the assignment.”
