Fergie posts provocative update on battling cancer after sweet message to Kate Middleton

Speaking at a charity gala at the Cannes Film Festival, Fergie, Duchess of York, revealed how she was doing after her cancer diagnosis last year and how she was able to support King Charles and the Princess of Wales in their struggles.

Sarah Ferguson posted a provocative update on her battle with cancer during a dazzling red carpet appearance.

The Duchess of York wore a breathtaking dress while appearing at the amfAR gala at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Her glamorous outing comes months after she was diagnosed with skin cancer and nearly a year after undergoing surgery for breast cancer.

Earlier this month, Fergie’s eldest daughter Princess Beatrice revealed in a rare update that her mother was now “all clear.” And during an interview in Cannes yesterday, Sarah made another positive point about her condition and the importance of raising awareness.

She told PEOPLE magazine: “Tonight I’m doing great. I think we managed to put the cancer in the right place rather than the cancer ruling me. I put the cancer in the corner.

“I think you always have to be aware of it. I think it’s great to get screened for breast cancer (and) melanoma. I think you just have to be very upfront about it. I think that a lot of people are very afraid to talk about things. I’m very happy about my mastectomy and my breasts and just talking about it.

Sarah was asked if she had been able to offer support to King Charles, 75, and Princess of Wales, 42, amid their cancer diagnoses earlier this year. The king is still undergoing treatment but recently returned to public duties, while Kate is away from public life as she continues her recovery.

And Fergie added: “I think family unity is the key… I think the key to life is that we all support each other. And also forgiveness is a good thing. I think that forgiveness of oneself and forgiveness of others.”

The Duchess previously spoke out when Kate revealed her diagnosis by posting a sweet message of support on Instagram. She said: “All my thoughts and prayers are with the Princess of Wales as she begins her treatment. I know she will be surrounded by the love of her family and everyone is praying for the best outcome.
