There’s only one thing that bothers Americans more than politics right now:

NEW YORK – Is something annoying you? If you’ve recently been irritated by exorbitant grocery prices, annoying politicians, or someone else’s questionable conduct, you’re not alone. A new survey asked Americans about everything that’s strained them over the past few months and found that one in two people are constantly exasperated by the cost of food and essentials right now.

With another polarizing election set for November 2024, it’s no surprise that politicians rank second on this list of America’s biggest annoyances: 41% of 2,000 respondents said they simply exasperated by the current political scene.

The Talker Research survey asked respondents to choose from a list of common problems. nuisances that irritated them the most in the last 90 days. Too loud TV (15%), constant chatter about artificial intelligence (14%), the cost of concert tickets and tech billionaires (both 12%) all make the list of things to worry about Americans right now.

Reality TV also made the list of most recent irritations (14%), while parking issues (10%) remain an age-old pet peeve for drivers. It turns out that even Hollywood bothers moviegoers, with 9% saying recent films have been “too dark.”

So, is there anything positive about this? Surprisingly, many people still see the bright side of life. Although there will still be daily inconveniences, the survey reveals that Americans’ overall attitude remains healthy when it comes to positivity.

In fact, one in five (18%) said their mood generally became much more positive as they got older, and 26% said it was a little more positive overall over time. Only five percent consider themselves becoming much more negative with age, although 19 percent believe their negativity increases slightly as they get older.

Among those who felt more negative, the survey found that 42 years old This is the typical time when we start to feel the beginnings of a bad mood. However, one in three people couldn’t tell one way or another whether they became more positive or negative as they got older.

Survey methodology:

This double opt-in random survey was conducted by market research firm Talker Research, whose team members are members of the Market Research Society (MRS) and the European Society for Opinion and Research. marketing research (ESOMAR).
