Stephen Curry’s message to fans after 10th All-NBA honor

Stephen Curry’s message to fans after 10th All-NBA honor

The Golden State Warriors’ 2023-24 campaign certainly didn’t go as planned. Despite the best efforts of star point guard Stephen Curry, the Warriors bowed out of the Play-In tournament against the Sacramento Kings, and a campaign full of struggles ended with the team not even making the playoffs, some wondering if their long-standing dynasty had finally come to an end.

While many of his teammates struggled to find their way, Curry once again had to shoulder a heavy offensive load (26.4 PPG, 5.1 APG, 4.5 RPG, 45 FG%). It wasn’t his best campaign ever, but Curry still found his place on the All-NBA Third Team, and he posted a heartfelt message to his fans on social media after his latest individual honor.

Curry has been the leader of the Warriors dynasty for a decade now and he has continued to play at an incredibly high level, even as the walls around him have started to crumble. Klay Thompson was Golden State’s next leading scorer at 17.9 points per game, but his struggles with his efficiency allowed opposing defenses to be able to attack Curry more each night.

The fact that Curry was able to persevere through this difficult campaign while putting up big numbers is a testament to his greatness. Without him, this Warriors team wouldn’t have even come close to making the playoffs, let alone the Play-In tournament. And because of this, he managed to make his way to his tenth All-NBA team.

This will be a huge offseason for Golden State, as it’s clear things need to change. Curry will begin his season at age 36 next year, so they can’t afford to continue to waste his solid game. The front office needs to find a way to surround Curry with more talent so he can continue to win titles in the later years of his career.

Does this mean the front office could split the trio of Curry, Thompson and Draymond Green? All the cards are on the table, so yes, this needs to be considered, especially considering Thompson’s struggles last season and all the drama surrounding Green. It would certainly be difficult to see this group break up, but for the Warriors, it might be the most logical move they could make.

Earning a spot on his tenth All-NBA team is confirmation that Curry is still at the top of his game, but it won’t mean much unless the front office makes big changes this offseason at come. It remains to be seen what these changes look like, but this is a crucial offseason for Golden State, and it will be interesting to see what they do in an effort to infuse more talent into their roster around Curry .
