Kenosha escapee arrested in Waukesha County |  Waukesha Co. News

WAUKESHA — A man who escaped from the Kenosha Correctional Center was apprehended Thursday in Waukesha County after more than eight months on the run.

Abram Jefferson, 45, was reported missing from the Kenosha Correctional Center on Sept. 15, 2023, according to a press release from the state Department of Corrections. He is to be transported to Kenosha County for processing and possible charges, the release states.

The statement gave no information on the circumstances of Jefferson’s capture, nor on where, when or how it took place. An email to a spokesperson for the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department was not immediately returned.

Online court records indicate Jefferson was charged with escape in January. Jefferson also faced previous criminal charges, including robbery and battery.
