China has encroached on our land but PM Modi remains silent: Kharge

Shimla: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday (May 25) claimed that China has encroached on Indian land and is building houses and roads, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains silent.

Where is the 56-inch chest, Kharge asked, attacking the Prime Minister during his speech at a rally in Rohru, Himachal Pradesh.

The Congress leader said his party is fighting to save the people of the country and the Constitution. If the Constitution is not saved, democracy and the rights it guarantees will be destroyed, he said.

The Modi government supports the rich, while the Congress is on the side of the poor. India’s first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, built infrastructure that helped the poor and Modi is holding Congress accountable for 55 years, Kharge said.

“We will account for every penny, but Modi should first account for his tenure.”

Kharge said: “We fought Pakistan and achieved independence for Bangladesh. China has encroached on our land and built houses and roads and Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains silent. Where is the 56 inch trunk?

The Congress leader also slammed the Center for allegedly failing to provide relief to the Himachal Pradesh government following the natural calamity during last year’s monsoon.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had sought Rs 10,000 crore in aid from the Center after the floods, but got only stones, Kharge claimed.

At the rally in the apple belt of Shimla district to seek support for Congress candidate from Shimla (SC) parliamentary constituency Vinod Sultanpuri, the party president said PM Modi had promised to ensure remunerative income to apple growers, but that he had reduced import duties.

“Modi is lying. He says something and does the opposite,” Kharge said.

He asked people if they had got the Rs 15 lakh that Prime Minister Modi had promised to give by returning the black money parked in Swiss banks to India, if 20 crore jobs had been created and if the Farmers’ income had doubled.

The cost of the bullet train has increased from Rs 1 lakh crore to Rs 3 lakh crore and is yet to be built, Kharge said, and promised to fill 30 lakh vacancies in government posts if elected to office. power in the Lok Sabha elections.
