Jensen Ackles Launches #SaveTheWinchesters Campaign After CW Cancellation

“Looks like we have some work to do,” writes The Winchesters executive producer and narrator Jensen Ackles on Twitter Thursday. Ackles took to social media to try to mobilize Supernatural fans campaigning to find the canceled Supernatural prequel a new house.

The CW announced The Winchesters cancellation earlier in the day, as well as Kung Fu.

Supernatural the elder Ackles reprized his role as Dean on the CW series and served as executive producer.

Knowing that the cancellation was likely to happen, The Winchesters Warner Bros. studio Television is preparing to look for a new home and plans to be aggressive in its efforts, it is said.

According to Ackles’ tweet, it’s clear that the actor is wasting no time putting in the effort to achieve this.

With Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodger, The Winchesters originates from Supernatural trio of Robbie Thompson, Jensen Ackles and Danneel Ackles, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios.

Written and produced by Thompson, The Winchesters is a prequel to the CW feature film Supernatural, centering on Dean and Sam Winchester’s parents – John and Mary. Told from the point of view of narrator Dean Winchester (voiced by Jensen Ackles), The Winchesters is the epic, never-before-told love story of how John (Rodger) met Mary (Donnelly) and how they put everything on the line to not only save their love but the entire world.

Jensen and Danneel Ackles serve as executive producers through their Chaos Machine Productions banner. Chaos Machine produced in association with Warner Bros. TV and CBS Studios. Glen Winter is executive producer and pilot director. David H. Goodman and John Showalter serve as executive producers.
