Donald Trump worries about the crucial and “unfair” aspect of the imminent trial verdict

Donald Trump has expressed concern about a crucial and “unfair” aspect of his trial verdict, as a looming decision hangs over the former president’s head.

With the presidential election just months away, Trump also faces lingering legal issues that could even land him in prison, some legal experts say.

Trump took to social media Monday to insist he is at a “big disadvantage” because he believes it is unfair that the defense won’t get the chance to “go last” in his trial.

Trump posted on Truth Social, in all caps: “Why is the corrupt government allowed to make the final argument in the case against me? Why can’t the defense last last? Big advantage, very unfair. Witch hunt !”

Typically, the prosecution makes a closing argument first, and then the defense attorney moves on next. However, the prosecutor, who bears the burden of proof, would often then have the opportunity to respond and thus have the last word.

Some on social media say this message from Trump shows signs of concern, after legal expert Norm Eisen said he believes the likelihood of him being convicted is now “80 percent or higher.” .

Trump maintains, without evidence, that Democrats and Joe Biden are behind the lawsuits. His criminal charges were recommended by grand juries made up of members of the public.
