The Bangladesh national cricket team’s first official warm-up match for the 2024 T20 World Cup against the United States has been canceled due to bad weather in Texas.

The match, which was scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m. Bangladesh time, was interrupted an hour and a half before the start as the stadium – Grand Prairie View in Houston, Texas – suffered serious damage due to the poor conditions.

“This is to confirm that the warm-up match between Bangladesh and the United States at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas today has been canceled due to the condition of the facilities following the bad weather that affected the region,” Bangladesh Cricket said. Board of directors informed.

According to reports from Houston, a thunderstorm accompanied by strong winds passed through Houston on Tuesday morning, causing damage to stadium facilities. One of these damages was the destruction of a temporary giant screen, installed for the World Cup matches.

Bangladesh will play their second and final warm-up match against India on June 1, before their first World Cup group stage match against Sri Lanka on June 8.
