King Charles sends message to Commonwealth after Meghan and Harry’s trip to Nigeria: ‘Bold and determined action needed’

King Charles has made his first public statement for Commonwealth countries after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle infuriated the monarch with their trip to Nigeria.

The King, head of the Commonwealth, sent this message to the Fourth Conference of Small Island Developing Nations.

The group shared King Charles’ message on their official X, formerly Twitter.

King Charles’ message says: “Your future is our future…ultimately, we all need bold and determined action.” »

It further said: “His Majesty the King, Head of the #Commonwealth, in his message to leaders at the 4th International Conference on #SIDS in #AntiguaAndBarbuda. »

The Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) takes place from 27 to 30 May 2024 in St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda.

Under the overall theme “Charting the Path to Resilient Prosperity”, the conference aims to assess the capacity of SIDS to achieve sustainable development, including the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals.

This is King Charles’ first direct message to Commonwealth countries following Meghan and Harry’s trip to Nigeria, which reportedly infuriated the monarch and Prince William.
